About the Performance
Marta and Mamia are parents left in a village, whose memories and sense of guilt are awakened by the death of their only child, who had left home. At this moment, a powerful feeling of outrage emerges, as they realize that instead of support, they encountered the closed-off voice of society—a society incapable of compassion even in the face of death. The only consolation for the parents comes from the appearance of their deceased child’s two friends at the memorial, bringing both relief and awkwardness.
The performance raises profound questions: Can the parents accept their child as they truly were, even after death? What happened to them? Why did they lose the capacity for empathy, or where did it disappear entirely? How could we find ourselves within a performance where the audience seems absent?
