✨ Based on the masterpiece by the renowned Armenian writer Hrant Matevosyan, the performance "The Buffalo" is a guest of our festival.
What happens when the ancestral memory of an ancient breed and the relentless urge to carry on life collide with a modern, cold world?
On green mountain pastures, the only female buffalo, separated from the herd of cows, suddenly feels an intense longing and the primal call of her kind. Juicy grass and routine life lose all meaning for her - she must find a bull to ensure that life continues.
Thus begins a long journey, fraught with danger and pain.
Despite despair, exhaustion, and hopelessness, the supreme law of nature prevails - the buffalo reaches her destination, where "the world becomes whole and real again," before returning to her native mountains and her people.
