About the Performance

 

Beloved by Georgian audiences, the characters created by the classic Georgian writer Nodar Dumbadze are full of kindness and melancholy.

“White Flags” tells the story of young Zaza Nakashidze. The prisoner Nakashidze finds himself in a prison cell with people who differ sharply from him in character and lifestyle. Their daily interactions reveal their problems, conflicts, life goals, and, most importantly, their capacity for love and acts of kindness. In this world, “a great white flag must proudly fly over Jomolungma as a symbol of boundless virtue, goodness, and love—a single white flag, an all-encompassing white flag.”
