“Alleys of Love”

 

“Alleys of Love” is the first production based on the works of Ivan Bunin to be staged in Georgian theatre at the Griboedov Theatre. The performance draws on stories from his legendary collection Dark Avenues: “In Paris,” “Muse,” “Rusya,” “Sunstroke,” “Madrid,” “Visiting Cards,” “The Ship Saratov,” “Dark Avenues,” and “The Caucasus.” As Bunin himself said, “All the stories in this book are only about love — its ‘dark’ avenues, which are often very sad and cruel.”

 

Avtandil Varsიმashvili’s “Stories of Fate” is a theatrical symphony of several different love stories. Interwoven into the delicate “lacework” of the performance, these stories captivate the audience with their tenderness, depth, and intense emotions. Some love stories are unfulfilled, others are tragic, while some are born for only a fleeting moment — yet each leaves its mark on a person’s destiny.

 

Beyond these stories, one thing remains unchanged: love is the strongest and most beautiful feeling a person can experience in life.
