“Goodbye, Temur!” – a one-act comedy that will make you laugh, think, and won’t leave you indifferent!
Basa Janikashvili’s comedy “Goodbye, Temur!” tells the story of an ordinary man who, driven by financial hardship and family problems, decides to commit suicide.
Temur’s suicide attempt becomes the starting point of a chain of events in which a loan officer, a parliamentarian, an artist, a journalist, and others exploit his misfortune for their own gain. It is a social satire where everyone tries to use Temur’s death for personal benefit.
This is both a dramatic and comedic work that prompts reflection on the political, social, and ideological peculiarities of contemporary Georgia — a Georgia in the 2020s where absurdity often surpasses reality.
