Grave of the Fireflies

The performance is based on the renowned Japanese animated film “Grave of the Fireflies”, written and directed by Isao Takahata.

 

The stage adaptation has been reimagined within the Georgian context and reflects the tragic consequences of the August 2008 War.

 

The play tells the story of a brother and sister, Datiko and Tasiko, who, after losing their parents, find themselves in extremely difficult social circumstances. They struggle to survive in the harsh post-war reality, facing hunger and homelessness while striving to preserve their dignity and hope.
