Description:
“One Jar of a Wish” is a physical and musical theatre performance created based on the plot motifs of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani’s fable “The Poor Man and the Jar of Butter.” The production reinterprets the classic text in an allegorical form and brings it to life through a contemporary stage language.
The performance incorporates Georgian traditional music, both folk instrument arrangements and compositions by Sulkhan Tsintsadze. The visual world is inspired by the paintings of Niko Pirosmani and is realized through video installations. The characters narrate the fable’s storyline through choreography that integrates elements of traditional Georgian dance. Notably, while the plot is based on the well-known fable, Sulkhan-Saba’s original text is not used in the performance; instead, folk poetry is employed.
