Description:

 

A year ago, we conceived a trilogy on the theme of violence. The first part of the trilogy is Leo Tolstoy’s The Kreutzer Sonata, which addresses the issue of domestic violence. The second part of the trilogy is Fyodor Dostoevsky’s Crime and Punishment, which portrays the desire to achieve success through violence and to overcome inner goals, while simultaneously revealing the complexity of its destructive power.

We are still considering the third part of the trilogy; however, it may be Dostoevsky’s Demons, which presents violence in a socio-political context, where evil ultimately prevails.

The pandemic period forced us to continue rehearsals for this production for nine months. This extended time allowed the creative team to delve deeply into this brilliant work, giving us a great gift—to ourselves, to intellectuals, and not only to them.
