Description:
Nodar Macharashvili’s historical novel Avi Musayfi explores the life of one of Georgia’s most beloved and tragic kings, Erekle II, and the politically complex era in which he lived. The stage adaptation of the novel for the Tbilisi Youth Theater was directed and adapted by Dimitri Khvtisiashvili. This production marks the first attempt to bring this historical-artistic novel to the Georgian theater stage.

 

The performance portrays the historical events of Erekle II’s era, while also reflecting aspects of contemporary Georgia’s complex reality: love and hatred, loyalty and betrayal, disappointment and faith, war, battles, intrigues, devotion to the homeland, morality, and timeless values.
