The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts is open every day from 10:00 to 19:00

 

 

The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts opened in 2018 and it showcases Georgian art from the last 80 years of the Soviet and post-Soviet period.

 

The Georgian Museum of Fine Arts houses the private collection of the Gia Jokhtaberidze and Manana Shevardnadze family, which includes more than 3,500 works by about 100 artists and is one of the largest private collections in the world.

 

The museum’s three floors house paintings and graphic works, sculptures, objects, etc. The museum tells us about historical events in chronological order – socialist realism, the period of the Iron Curtain and the Cold War, the period of warming, the collapse of the Soviet regime, Civil War and Independent Georgia. The building houses a museum shop, Café Museum, and the Arthouse, a multifunctional space with restaurants, a lounge, a gym, and an outdoor pool.
