Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra - "Georgian Sinfonietta", with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia, continues to cooperate with the Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI)

 

The Symphony Orchestra of India (SOI), based at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai, is India’s first and only professional orchestra. It was founded in 2006 by NCPA Chairman Khushroo N. Suntook and internationally-renowned violin virtuoso Marat Bisengaliev, who serves as the Orchestra’s Music Director


With the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Georgia, the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra - “Georgian Sinfonietta” together with Tamar Licheli (pianist) held concerts on March 11 and 12 at Prithvi Theatre and NCPA Tata Theatre, India. The collaboration between Georgian and Indian musicians continues and in October, the Symphony Orchestra of India will now be hosted by the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra in Georgia

 

On October 5, at the Vano Sarajishvili Tbilisi State Conservatoire Grand Hall the works by Edward Elgar and Karl Jenkins will be performed at the concert
